Design
The body of Ovente electric kettle resembles a jug with a wider base and a relatively smaller mouth opening.
Handle
The start button is well placed right over the cool handle. This makes it easy to operate. The handle also offers a great balance when pouring or carrying the kettle around.
Spout
The design of this appliance ensures that water has to pass through a filter positioned at the spout. This spout is removable for easy cleaning. Cleaning the interior is further enhanced by concealing the heating element which would otherwise inhibit the cleaning of some parts.
Control

Under $20, glass, fun colors

An excellent product for under $20.
I needed to get something quickly while away from home for a few months. Wanted something inexpensive in stainless steel. When I saw this in different colors and in glass, I liked the idea of getting a fun color but also being able to see through for cleaning. That was a good call since where I am staying has well water so the water can be hard at times and quick to cause a white buildup. I am able to know where to scrub (with soft sponge) as soon as it happens. I also boil it with half water and half vinegar once a week leaving it to soak overnight, as per the care instructions.
It’s a quick boil. Not designed to keep the water hot.
I have a high end stainless steel electric kettle at home, which has always worked fine but it also doesn’t keep the water hot after a boil. Plus I never feel like I’ve been able to clean it properly inside.
Not sure if there was an advantage of paying more money for my kettle at home. I would only do so next time if the electric kettle has a feature where the water can stay hot once it turns off.
Positives—
Under $20, glass, get to pick up some color
One negative—
For the manufacturer, please swap the two buttons on the handle. Makes no sense to have the button closer to the handle be the one that powers on and off while the smaller one away from the handle open the lid. It’s more natural to pick up with one hand and press the larger button to open lid with the same hand, where the thumb can actually reach the button. It’s counterintuitive.
